Today, alocal guide will escort you to visit the Medina, there; you will see the old university and Medersas, the tanneries, the “souk” and the narrow streets of this ancient city. In the afternoon, you will be taken on a tour around the walls of the city and have an opportunity to visit the King’s Palace, the old Jewish section “Mellah”, a tile and pottery factory to see how the decorative Moroccan tiles are made. Finally, you will have a chance to get a panoramic view of Fez. The night out will consist of a dinner at a traditional Moroccan restaurant with entertainment including belly dancing and Andalusian musicians.
Day 4: Fez – Behalil – Sefrou – Azrou – Erfoud
After breakfast you will head towards the Atlas Mountain via Bahalil where you will have the opportunity to share mint tea with a Berber family that live in ancient caves. In Sefrou, you will see a beautiful waterfall and explore another old Jewish settlement. Azrou is well known for its large cedar forest and you may catch a glimpse of one of the many monkeys living there. By nightfall you will arrive at the Kasbah, an old castle where you will spend the night and experience the folklore of a Moroccan night. Dinner will again consist of another sampling of traditional Moroccan fare.
Day 5: Night in the Oasis/Merzouga
After breakfast, you will have a tour by the “blue men” to see the beautiful Berber villages and traditional markets. You will be transported by camel ride on the route to an oasis where you will spend the night under the stars. No visit to the desert would be complete without experiencing a spectacular Moroccan sunset and sunrise.
Day 6: Ourzazat
After breakfast, you will be transported to Ourzazate, “the Moroccan Hollywood”. On the way, you will have lunch by the magnificent Todra Gorges. You will continue on to the Valley of Roses and see different Berber tribes. In Ouzazate, you will have the chance to see where many movies have been filmed such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. You will spend the night at a local Ryad.
